Review:

Sze Chuen cuisine is famous for its extreme spiciness and the numb feeling it gives to your tongue. So this restaurant really is not a good idea for people who cannot eat spicy food. You could tell them you do not want your food spicy when you order, but then it would not taste as good as it is. One thing weird about this restaurant is that, although they have an English menu, almost all their most popular and best dishes are not included in it. So I would suggest not to order from their English menu. Instead you should either follow my recommendations, or look around and see what other customers have ordered.

My favourite dish in this restaurant is their "Sze Chuen Hot and Sesame Chicken" ($48), which in my opinion, is the best in Hong Kong. This dish is called the "mouth-watering chicken" in Chinese, referring to its appetising taste which makes you mouth-watering. Their "Sze Chuen Hot and Sesame Noodles in Soup" ($17) is also very famous and popular for its savoury taste and hand-made noodles. There used to be no meat in this kind of noodles when it was first created many years ago in Sze Chuen. But around 30 years ago, Mr Yeung, the founder of the restaurant recreated the noodles and added in minced-pork and crushed-peanuts, and it became really popular. From then on, many Sze Chuen restaurants follow their style and make this kind of noodles with crushed-peanuts and minced-pork in it. It is becoming so common that many people do not even know that there was not supposed to be meat in it. Another dish that I would like to recommend is their "Spicy Sliced Pork & Sliced Vermicelli with Garlic" ($62). This is a light and refreshing dish so it could be ordered as an entree.
