The Guide美都餐室 Mido CafeInformation:
Review:A "Tea Cafe" (Cha Chan Teng) is a prominent type of Hong Kong style fast-food restaurant, which is a very influential and popular eating culture in Hong Kong. Established in 1950, Mido Cafe is the oldest tea cafe in Hong Kong. Its classic and tasty Hong Kong style fast-food; its unique and traditional interior and exterior design; and its location in the old-fashion-styled Temple Street, are all the reasons why it has always been so popular among local people. The first floor is a nice place to have Hong Kong style fast-food, as there is a long window where you can see the Temple Street Market while eating. Unlike the ground floor, the first floor is air-conditioned in the summer, and the seats are more comfortable. The restaurant's most famous dishes are their Baked Pork-chops or Baked Spareribs Rice ($48). The rice is first fried with eggs before they bake them together with the spareribs or pork-chop, topped with a mild sweet sauce. I also suggest trying their most popular drink, which is also my favourite in Mido – "Red Bean Ice" ($17) or "Red Bean Ice with Lotus Seeds" ($25). Ratings:
