The Guide麥文記麵家 Mak Man Kee Noodle ShopInformation:
Review:This is one of the most authentic and famous wonton noodles restaurant in Hong Kong. Established 40 years, today they are still following their traditional recipe. First of all, their wontons are all wrapped in thin and smooth wrappers, and filled with deliciously marinated fillings, including pork and shrimps. A long proportion of wrapper sticks out after wrapping up the fillings, which makes the wontons look like goldfishes, and that is the most authentic and beautiful way to make Cantonese wontons. Besides, their noodles are all hand-made with duck eggs, and their soup is boiled with traditional ingredients for 5 to 6 hours. That is why their "Wonton Noodles in Soup" ($22) is so popular. You can also try their "Beef Brisket Noodles in soup" ($23) and "Fried Shredded Pork in Sauce with Noodles in Soup" ($22). The noodles can be ordered dried, without soup, but that would cost $33 because of the increased amount of noodles. Then again, this restaurant does not provide English menu, and I am not sure if they can speak English (probably not). So just look around and point at what other people are eating, or maybe if you say something like "WON-TON noodles" clear and loud, they might be able to understand. Ratings:
